Can computer codes be made to be somehow more "Green"?

I think that Question may have become a little tide up from too many "Green" questions. I just edited it. Green refers to everything related to the environment, but I do not see how that is possible in coding unless you coded a program that promotes environmental consciousness.

I agree JB unless coding can some how reduce the computing power required.

Good point. Actually refined coding can reduce CPU power which in turn reduces power consumption, so that may be one way of looking at it. Conversely, bad codes cause an increase in CPU usage and thus more power use.
