I often why some people would travel on vacation only to be caught up with television? Don't they get enough of that and the net at home?

MOVING PICTURES: SALT LAKE COMPANY BRINGS TV AND INTERNET TO VEHICLES Like millions of people, C. Reed Brown and Darin T. Anderson watched the end of the Super Bowl, savoring the ball game on live TV. But they were watching it on a Monday. Halfway around the world. While on the road. https://deseretnews.com/ |
Offtopic but, I was thinking... maybe we need a 'gadgets' board so that it does not tie up the computer section? |
I often watch TV while on vacation. It isn't my primary focus and I would never interrupt my plans to catch a favorite show, but if it rains or late at night before I go to sleep or early in the morning before leaving my room, I might put the TV on.
Also, it is a good way to keep the kids occupied during long drives, or I imagine it would be. I don't have a set in my vehicle.
AND, I don't think I ever get enough of the net...after all this site is on the net.

With the major progressions of technology these same features as well as many more are now as easy and compact as carrying your cellular telephone. This may be a little off topic but I just do not understand why I would need TV on my cell phone or in my car. *I understand the argument as for the passengers and children, but what ever happened to conversation?
The other half was net, I do not believe that I could go for more than maybe two days without the net so if my travels were to take me away for longer than that period I would have problems. On that note, net in my car is a great idea.
I have a DVD player in our family car, but that was mostly for my 2-year old who is a horrible traveler. Now that he is interested in movies, the DVD player comes in handy for those long trips where he can get bored very quickly. As for internet access in the car, I used to have internet access on my cell phone, but it was very tedious to surf, and I cancelled it. I wouldn't want internet access in the car, save for a GPS system.
When we take vacations, we only watch TV at night while winding down, but during the day, we're hardly ever in our hotel room. I will bring my laptop with me and see if there is internet access in the room to check my email, this site of course, and maybe surf for a bit, again to wind down the night. If I travel for work, then internet access is important for obvious reasons.
