Please post a response to this, even if it's only "Go away!" so that I can post here in the future. Remember, I cannot double post, and that prevents me communicating with Admin via this thread unless someone always responds to each of my own posts.

I sense some frustration with my posts this morning. I'd like to make clear that before I posted anything, I first did do a search. (I really have read the FAQ and loads of other "instruction" threads, really I have.)

And I created a topic when I thought it had not been created.* The other I posted in the most relevant thread that I could find. I went straight into feedback. The response to my suggestions made it look like the administration of this place was fairly taken back by it (almost as though it were an insult). That surely wasn't my intent.

Also, I felt somewhat berated when I was advised that THIS is the place to have made my suggestion as to "International Discussions", as opposed to posting it in the Feedback portion of this place on an International Discussion feedback thread.

My hope is that admin can see that I really am TRYING to post as you desire. I am TRYING to bring useful/thoughtful items to this board. It is what attracted me here in the first place. And, yeah, I'm still confused that I am to post feedback on my introduction thread, as opposed to in the feedback forum. But, such as it is.

By the way, in RPG I am informed that we should advise the GM if we are unable to post for a period of time. We are supposed to post party orders every 24 hours (from what I've read). After a period of time, we will lose RPG status for failure to post. I don't want to lose that status because others are not posting. So how do I advise the GM that I am not idle, and merely waiting for others? Easier to advise up front, then beg for RPG status back after it's been taken away.

I have no info on how to contract the GM directly, other than perhaps posting on here (and hoping he sees it).

Ignore below if you don't really care about what the Hamas post was about

But regarding the deletion by Persephone of my article on a journalist's interview of Hamas, please see that it is an honest difference of opinion. Even after I found more Hamas threads, I still could not find one in which to post the news article that I referred to. The item is about a journalist's fears in interviewing Hamas while in Syria. It touches on several issues, but principally:

* journalist's real fears on interviewing someone targeted by Israel for death
* Syria's misrepresentation that it is harboring terrorists

In my read of all the threads that deal with Hamas, not one touches on these subjects. I could possibly insert it into "Terrorism around the world," but that seems so broad and doesn't really deal with the journalist's real fears in the course of his job. Anywho, obviously my mind and the admin's is not in sync in what is "off topic" or a duplicate topic. But I'm not intentionally skirting the rules (and, yeah, I have read the FAQ).

Please post a response to this...

Tortdog, relax. Don't we always?

Upgraded Members can double post if beyond edit time period.

Okay, to make this short...

1. Use advanced Search, especially quote tags - they make a difference in the Searches.

2. We do not duplicate similar Topics because they often mean dozens of Threads unanswered. This is answered in the Feedback Board. Please review my responses there about Posting, Forum Purpose, etc.

3. Why do you need to contact me directly? Just get your party to hurry up (remember you can also visit Member's Rave / Intro Threads), you will not need to Contact me directly unless you have an error with your account or are specifically instructed to. Keep in mind that this site is ONE out of literally thousands I maintain - no joke.

4. Tortdog, there is nothing personal - edit are edits, because unlike other Communities we actually enforce policy here. This keeps the level of Discussion quite high and every post a worthwhile read.

5. Make sure that when you respond to a Thread you also keep in line with the FIRST message within a Post and not merely the thoughts of the last person you reply to.

6. You can give Feedback in the Feedback Board in the relevant Thread. When your Feedback is not the same as the Thread's subject then you need to come back here and post your Questions / Comments.

You gave instructions/warnings on numerous occasions about the heinous sins of not posting and keeping the game moving. If we expect to be gone we are supposed to notify you. If we don't and 7 days elapse, then we lose RPG status. The way I looked at this is we are already into the 4th or 5th day of not posting a party order. So I figured the lot of us were in trouble unless something happened quick.

Part of me wasn't too worried, since if you did remove my RPG status you would have seen that I was the last post and could not do a party order since I wasn't the party leader. But...

Anywho, I'm sure there might be times in the future where I might not be able to post for 7-days due to business. Before I get in that situation, I would sure want to know how I am supposed to advise you. Right know, I'm speculating that the way I do that is by leaving a message here.

(Actually, whenever you do respond I feel pretty bad. I don't want you wasting time asking questions that surely have been asked before. But I do try to first find the answer (or find an underling to inquire).)

This is if the game is progressing but you are no where to be found. In this case the Party Order will usually reflect that 'x' person has not participated in the Camp for 'x' days. This is not the case with you, you are right now in the Village, so for me the Game has not even begun, therefore do not worry about it.

In that case, there is a method for doing so... either inform the Party Leader to state it as a Post or yes, you can Contact me directly. However, if you do that in the middle of a Scenario I cannot promise what will be the outcome of your character.

QUOTE
I don't want you wasting time asking questions...

You mean answering them? I really can promise you Tortdog, that 99.5% of most questions are answered in the FAQ Board or FAQ Sticky Threads of the Board in question.

However, you do not have to feel bad, you can just Upgrade to Platinum and then I will know you think my time is worth it.

Congrats Tortdog! Some nice FP come handy now eh? wink.gif Since I know you will be "attacking" the LDS mature section soon, may I suggest something? We have some threads we have been discussing there for years and they have several pages of discussion, please take the time to read ALL the pages before posting instead of reading the last page so you will know if we have discussed whatever point you may try to bring up.

Enjoy the new features!
