Philosopher Introduction
Philosopher: Of male gender, he pretends to be nothing else. This is re-assuring to his parents, who bore a son and expected he would remain so. His Father died happy with that knowledge. Afterall, he'd already sired three daughters. Is this not the meaning of Life? The continuance of oneself is fact to the belief in immortality, and better if a son can bestill the name of the father to the
future.
42 years of age, this particular son (who styles himself as 'Philosopher') delights in quoting from a dead writer... "Life, The Universe, And Everything". This enigmatic quote has relevance for only six more months. Then he will be 43, and he will cease to bewilder people.
In the meantime, he enjoys taking time from his mundane existence in this real world to explore and discover like-minded people. This begs the question... where does the mind of Philosopher lie? What does he think? What does he do? Who, exactly, is he?
Facts: He is male and 42 years of age (already ascertained). He lives in New Zealand, which is variously described as being The-Land-Of-The-Long-White-Cloud, Middle Earth, Paradise, or Hell, depending on where you hail from and what your knowledge of New Zealand is.
He writes as a hobby, would prefer to write as a means of existence, but has long ago learned that writers live a precarious financial existence. So, he works a 40hr per week job to sustain the long hours spent tapping at a keyboard.
He has an expansive imagination, and long ago discovered that he enjoyed fantasy and science fiction as complimentary themes to his own thought-waves.
As such, he became involved with games which gave satisfaction to such thinking;
Role-Playing Games, they are called.
And, through many hours of pursuing such endeavours, he finally came upon this computer site.
This monologue proclaims "day 1" of his membership.
Do not be concerned by his idiosyncratic method of talking about himself in the third person. He is quite a nice bloke, as blokes go, and because he has not yet met anyone in this community, why, he has no-one to relate to but himself.
Hopefully, the near
future will change that.
