ASTRONAUT ARRESTED ON ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING CHARGES
A NASA astronaut was arrested Monday on battery and attempted kidnapping charges after allegedly trying to subdue a romantic rival with pepper spray and abduct her from a parking lot at Orlando International Airport, police said.

This is getting a lot of news coverage, I suppose that it is all based on the fact that the accused is female and happens to be an astronaut - something that everyone sees as a role model and good:

I don't understand how people believe that they should harm or kill someone who is a "love rival" for someone else's affections. Especially when they are already married themselves. That whole mindset just baffles me.
This woman sounds like she ought to be on that "stupid criminal" TV show. She really bungled the whole job - what was she thinking?

Now I am sure that there will be one seriously ackward conversation with her husband and 3 children coming in the near future! Although, if she does get by with this with a mear slap on the wrists, she could probably set her self up for a Depends Undergarments Commercial. I would really hate to be the husband in this situation!

According to CNN: "NASA is revising its psychological screening of astronauts after one of them, Lisa Nowak, was charged with attempted murder."

Well of course NASA would do that, maybe in addition to this they should have regular follow-ups since one can be sound of mind upon entry into NASA and later develop psychological problems later.

I just read that she was put on leave for 30 days from NASA, that the police have been by her house before after complaints about noises coming from the house (apparently, dishes being thrown around ). The family made the following statement:

Obviously this "relationship" have been going on long before she "separated" from her husband since the other lady filed for a restraining order against her recently stating that the Nowak have been stalking her for two months.
Now I made my own search about the man in the "middle". He is married at least so it says NASA's profile description. So what is this thing of the other woman calling herself a "girlfriend"?
Update: In People's Magazine they state that the guy is divorced, so the profile I read have not been updated obviously.

Love Struck Astronaut Thought It Would All Stay Secret
Astronaut Lisa Nowak was operating in a state of delusion. You might have been able to infer that about anyone who drives 1,100 miles to confront the woman she believed was her rival in love. But newly released documents demonstrate the Nowak clearly believed what she was doing would remain a secret.
