I guess that if we were all that special that we would also have the priesthood too.
I have often thought about this. I believe that women are, largely because of society encouraging the sensitivities of females over males, more sensitive to spiritual matters. However, that beings said, it makes it very easy then to see how a man can be as sensitive as women as a whole, and often times even more so than the large majority (speaking in majorities of course and not of individuals) of women.
In other words, a man who focuses his time and attention on such things can have the same connection to spirit as a woman. In many cultures a woman's dominant role, that of mother and homemaker, allows, and in fact enables her, to have more time and attention on things of a spiritual and also emotional nature.
Any spiritual gift or attribute can be gained through focused attention on that quality or characteristic.

AlaskanLDS, those were great points. Many times I wondered why the sisters in the Church want to have the Priesthood so bad when we are co-creators with Heavenly Father when we bring Spirit Children on this Earth! I can't think of anything MORE special than this!
So even though I do not think as women we are above men in spiritual matters, I do think we are special enough for the Lord to have trusted us with such huge responsibility.

I think that there is scriptural evidence that states that woman do not have any "spiritual advantages" over men. The scriptures when talking about "fallen man" or the effects of the fall make it clear that it is a universal fall, no matter what sex, gender, or race one is. there is no where in scripture in my opinion that states otherwise. I think that it is a myth we in the church seem to hold on to. LDS feminists argue against this idea of Woman being "more righteous" then men, as they think that it is a chauvinistic idea held by men in the church. ( An interesting idea to say the least.)With that said I think that woman do hold key importances in ministering the Lord's salvation to his children. As mentioned earlier one said that it seemed that most of the main works of salvation were given to men/ priesthood to administer. But there are some occasions, Women in the temple administer priesthood ordinances to other woman. In the early days of the church woman gave blessings of healing, anointings to other woman at child birth, and other ministrations that we typically relate to male roles today. So one has to wonder why such things are not practiced today by our faithful sisters, or if such practices will one day resume? We know if the scriptures that it was common for woman to practice prophecy and other gifts that we typically do not associate with woman today.
I did not know in the early days of the church women could do priesthood stuff? Where do I get info on that?
