My only issue with any compensation type package for be it WWIII Victims, Slavery Victims, etc... is that it is nearly impossible to put a value on human lives ,freedome or sentimental assets. There is no way that Germany can ever make up for what was done in WWII to the Jews. It just is not possible. The US will never be able to come up with a appropriate value to pay out against slavery. There will always be someone that will break it down into a payment per disadvantaged person and say that this is what it was worth? Does that sound fair?
Say Germany gives $1000 USD per Jew killed in concentration camps... That will come to about a nice round 6 Billion USD. That sounds like a lot, but is a human life worth $1000USD? Most of us would like to think we are worth more than that...
It might be easier in this case with Britian and ceased property to come up with a good figure that is accurate. But wont someone complain that my family had more taken than your family? It was a horrible war and nothing is ever going to make it alright for all sides...ever.
