Most people take a camera with them on holiday, but they are quite fragile things. Last year however Sanyo released the Xacti VPC-CA65EX ($699), which while not "ruggedized" as such, is waterproof up to 1.5 metres -for an hour at least, and in no warmer water than 40°C. This makes the Xacti VPC-CA65EXW compliant with the IPX8 Japanese Industry Standard for waterproofing.
