Va. Laptop Sale Turns Into a Stampede
AP - A rush to purchase $50 used laptops turned into a violent stampede Tuesday, with people getting thrown to the pavement, beaten with a folding chair and nearly driven over. One woman went so far as to wet herself rather than surrender her place in line.

That was absolutely nuts! It reminded me of when I used to work at a local retail computer store, and we would publish deals in the Sunday newspaper. People would arrive at the front gate an hour before we opened, and literally beg us to open the door. Once the door opened, it was a mad rush. Of course, it was never to the extent as was described in this article.
Good used laptops are difficult to come by for a good price but this is ridiculous. I have heard similar stories such as these about sales on the day after Thanksgiving here in the US as many retailers drive prices to the dirt on a few items just to get you into their stores when they know they have a very limited supply.
