In an attempt to woo customers as the article suggests Dell has lowered prices dramatically in many cases. This is due to low first quarter reporting as it reads. After reading this article I ventured over to Dell's website and found this information useful. I may have to start looking at a new computer myself very soon.

My company gives us a discount on Dell computers as does my mothers company. We both received corporate emails that Dells prices for us were dropping even further for a limited time. I wonder if this is permanent or just a temporary price reduction to get sales.

I get a discount with IBM, or Lenovo now, so I probably won't ever buy a Dell myself. I have been tempted to purchase a Dell laptop in the past, but ended up with a Thinkpad anyway.
