Oh this is rich, she lives better than me and owes 1.1 Million dollars and personal income tax!

The one-time Wellington cuisine queen, who hosted diners for more than a decade at her flagship Kopi restaurant, and later at Bouquet Garni and Rouge, owes more than $1.2 million to Inland Revenue in unpaid PAYE and income taxes and resultant penalties and interest. |
This behavior annoys me to the extreme. The bankruptcy laws were written to help people in serious trouble - folks who lost jobs due to circumstances beyond their control and have difficulty finding another, become ill and have had expensive medical treatment, become disabled and unable to work, etc. - not to let freeloaders skate away from debts they can legitimately pay. Whenever I hear of "wealthy" people claiming they are bankrupt I want to scream.
