Control the Power Plugs
I have two systems that utilize two wall sockets. Within those wall sockets I have placed a converter so I can get six female outlets each for a total of 12, but that is not enough, why, because I have so much stuff that has to run. here is an example:
1. Monitor x 2
2. Towers x 2
3. Speakers x 2
4. Network hub x 1
5. Printer x 1
6. Scanner x 1
7. UPS x 1 (this gives three female outlets)
8. Desk light
9. TV
10. Radio
11. Fan
Now sometimes the adaptors come with the transformer on the plug itself, which is silly because a large box (that holds the transformer to step down current) will take up two plugs.
What do you do to keep everything jacked in without over loading?
Oh, I can relate so very well, and computing is not even my vocation. It's just a hobby. I also have two outlets with two converters for a total of 12 outlets. My jungle includes:
2 Towers
1 Monitor (For now we're switching the monitor back and forth between two towers.)
1 Printer
1 Fax machine
1 TV
1 DSL modem
1 Router for phone system
1 Phone & answer machine
1 pencil sharpener
That leaves two, one of which will be used for the new scanner that I've just ordered. The fun part is trying to find a specific cord in the mess.
