Laptop Alarm (freeware)
Have any of you tried Laptop Alarm from Source 2 ? It is a small (<500kB) program that runs on Windows and causes an alarm to go off if someone tries to steal your laptop (unplug the AC, move the mouse, or shut it down).

I tired both versions 2BETA and 1.20 but I didn't get it to work on my laptop running WinXPSP3. When I run it I can check the options but when I click "lock" everything disappears except my background (I assume it is supposed to work this way). But I can't get any option (dialog box maybe?) to unlock it. It also doesn't make any alarm when I unplug the AC so my guess is something on my laptop isn't functioning well with it when I lock it (AV perhaps)... But from the great reviews it seems to do what it is supposed do. I didn't try it on another computer or disable any runnig programs yet.
Figured I would post it here in case anyone else finds it useful and it works for them!
