There's some sound advice in this article. If it were me, and I had plenty of money to help my teenagers out, I'd be investing in good property that I knew would bring back a good solid return, and if nothing else, at least provide a roof over their heads.
It seems the way to go to build up a 'property portfolio' by buying one property cheap, spending some on it, then getting rid then reinvesting into a higher priced property and repeating the pattern-I know someone who has built up quite a substantial sum for his kids by doing this. (Unfortunately it's not me!)
