It is hard when dear ones are gone at this time of the year. My niece passed away one the 22 of Dec and we still set a picture of here in our tree every year it seems weird but the boys keep asking to do it. I figure it is they way of saying we still miss her. Farseer I pray for your heart to be lightened and the burden removed. Enjoy you family and celebrate twice as much and with twice the fun!
Rather off topic, but... In Jamaica passing on of a loved one is no time for sorrow, it be the reason to party hearty. After all they made it to heaven and is with God! What a better time love to celebrate this passing then at Christmas when little Jesus was born allowing this passage for us all. (Words from my kind Auntie Jen (she be from there)) |
We are just having a few friends over. The only family that we have out here in UT is planning on celebrating Christmas with the rest of the family in MO and we will be out here all alone. But luckily the same has happend to our friends so we decied to celebrate Christmas Eve the old Trinidadian way, with lots of food and music. Hopefully we will get some snow and then we can build a snowman on Christmas Day. My kids are 2 and 3 so they don't want toys or anything like that, they just want to spend some family time with us.
Merry Christmas!

We had a party with our 44 neighbors today Two 10-pound hams, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, baked sweet potatoes, squash, mushrooms, coleslaw, fresh veggie trays, wheat rolls with butter, apple pie, pumpkin pie, lemon meringue pie, egg nog.... it was fabulous! Lots of folks contributed time setting up or cleaning up or a dish to share.
The next few days will be filled with family events, shopping, gift-giving, and plenty of visiting time.
Warm wishes to you and your families on this joyous season!
