Well I think we hurt them some . We killed five of thier furry friends. I want to make a few traps for the horses. By putting the wolves up as a warning we can possibly lure a horse or two into a trap. Nothing like a spiked club clearing a horses saddle either.
Not sure what you are thinking off here. We need a fairly exact are to do this in and can not endanger any one else passing by.
So stake the carcass in the area where we killed them. On stakes or hung from trees, but how to use that to push the looker in to a trap? The guilty party knows we killed the beast so no shock their. Are you hoping it will irk them into a more out right attack on the farm? Thus we set trip line or such along the south border of the farm?
Daphne do you think he is part of this? If so what is his gain in losing his stock?
I also put up the question who would gain from letting the wolves feed on his stock? Are they trying to run him off so that other illegal or questionable activities can occur so close to town?
I am thinking of a trap that uses the wolfs head in or on a tree tree branch about the same height of a rider on a horse. If the head is moved a trap is sprung pulling a horses feet out from under it. Thus throwing the rider to the side where a few sharpened stakes are cleverly disguised by a some bushes. Does this make sense. We can set these traps up a little bit south of where our camp was. About average bow shot away. We do not know how many horse they have but if we get rid of the riders we can have some more horses and sale the ones we do not need. Thus we are far enough south not to harm a bypasser.
We were still fighting a wolf or two when the horses rode away. So it is not a shape changer. Theives perhaps.
"horses' hooves going away" To me that means more than one and no I do not expect blood trails nor do I expect any thing but them to head south and disappear in the plains.
We shall see what we can learn from the farmer.
