Beowolf and Daphne both inform the farmer they to will defer payment and just wish to help save the farm.
We also ask the old man for his aid in this task as time is short.
Kalfie, Daphne, Klar and they try to get Beowolf to follow them. They head out and make suitable fire pits and stock them with fuel to burn for many hours. One pit located on the south side of the sheep pen to try and light the area for archers to kill what may approach. Placed such that they will not harm the existing fence but give light to the area.
Back to the east side of the chicken and pig pens a second fire done in the same manner.
On the north side two more are built around the barn where the sheep will be herded into by the old man for the nights events. If possible the chickens and pigs will be placed there also. The fires here will be on the north west corner of the barn and east north corner.
If the barn has a loft with windows or opening facing different directions they will be used to keep one archer looking out by the barn.
A second archer will be placed on the house roof. We will ask the farmer and daughter to help with this by being awake inside to rouse those sleeping if an attack occurs during the night. Sleep shifts will be 4 hour durations. We will ensure Beowolf is out side when Sophia is on watch inside.

Kalfie noting his stomach is empty he looks at the group and they nod in agreement, and they agree to take up the offer of hot food.
Once the food is finished the fires will be set and all live stock placed in the barn. If it is getting too dark before dinner then then all will be done first.
Plans are made for two in the barn and two in the house if there are windows opening to the north and south. The group will split Beowolf in the barn with Kalfie and Daphne and Klar in the house. If the house does not have proper viewing, all will go to the barn and use the same shifts as mentioned prior.
Klar and Kalfie to take first watch, the shift to change every 4 hours. When Kalfie sleeps Beowolf will use his bow in case of an attack.
Kalfie and Klar head to the barn to ready their positions knowing the wolves be at hand shortly.
Daphne takes the farmer aside and asks him to get the girl upstairs ASAP as arrows may soon fly. She also mentions quietly to Sophia they will need Beowolf's sword if things go wrong and to kindly ask him to place his attentions on the coming fight for her honor.
Kalfie rides out to scout the tracks left last night.
Beowolf if he can pull himself free will assist Daphne in checking the live stock to ensure they are ok. If Kalfie is not back before this is completed the fire pits will be restocked.
klar explains to the farmer the smoke is better then dead sheep and that tonight less fires will be used. Just not knowing what they faced last night, complete protection for the stock was required. To night maybe one pit will be used or two at most.
Once scouting is done and fire pits restocked the group will eat and discus the findings.
The group gladly accepts the offer of hot food and over the meal Kalfie relies what he found to the old man. The group's plans are finalized and the old man kept informed.
Meal done Beowolf is told by the other three of his members in no uncertain terms he is to get out of the house and pitch in with the work or else.
Kalfie heads out and sets snares along the most traveled pathways of the wolves to the south of the farm. But first he sets some rabbit snares in the brush closer to the farm. As he travels he will attempt to trap any small game he finds in hopes of baiting some traps.
Pits with stakes are dug along the south side of the farm perimeter where it looks like the wolves traveled the most. A total of 2 are made on this perimeter.
Closer to the barn on the west side but to the south reach visible by the house and within bow shot of both the barn and the house a third pit is dug. A long pole is drove into the ground in the center of each pit with a rope on it to which raw meat can be tied. (Hopefully the rabbits and game Kalfie finds.)
Once all traps are set and baited as best as possible Kalfie will loop wide of his traps and see if he can figure out a more exact location of the wolves. Daphne will join him as they can travel swift on horse back. Beowolf and Klar will sleep so as to be rested for the first watch.
Kalfie and Daphne head out ride a loop around the snares that were set to catch the tracks to the south. They then track the wolves till they know it will take then till 5:00 PM to get back to camp. At that time the head back and Kalfie checks the rabbit snares, any that have tripped will be fixed. If time is still available some rabbit snares will be set to the east side of the farm.
If any rabbits are caught they will be used to bait the pits. Other wise Klar will negotiate the price on three chickens for which Kalfie will pay the farmer and they will be used for bait. The blood will be drained from them and spread about the bit coverings.
The pits will be 10 ft by 10 ft and 5 ft deep complete with spike in pit and the animal carcass hung so it is appears to be at ground level in the centre.
