Calling And Election

QUOTE
Amonhi - A few years back, I watched a discussion between someone I know very well and a RS president. They had a disagreement and after this young lady explained, very reasonably, her view point, the RS Pres. who couldn't argue the point back but was unwilling to agree told this lady, "Well, when you are more mature in the gospel, (Insinuating, "More mature like me"), and you have been in the church as long as I have, then you will understand why it is that way."
I secretly laughed because it was true that the RS President was certainly older than this particular woman who had received her calling and election, which is the promise of exaltation. How much more mature in the gospel can you get! Hahahaha...

LDS_Forever - We have a thread in the LDS Mature section that deals with Making your Call and Election Sure. If you decide to upgrade at some point of time, I would love to discuss this issue with you and ask you a couple of questions concerning this particular experience you shared.

Uh, ok. Why isn't there a calling and election discussion in the LDS Immature Discussion area? I would also love to discuss the topic, requirements, how it happens, blessings, changes, etc...

Election Calling

wink.gif Cute Joke, Amonhi~ especially the one about the "immature" discussion area. I have often wondered about God's sense of humor because as much as I love the gospel and the deep insights regarding it, and I really do, I am more on the immature side of my generation I think. In fact I think the only way I will become mature will be by growing old...not growing up!

Anyway, I am a bit confused at how this works. I got an email notification saying you started a thread on this topic. I came to read it and found two "quotes", one from you and one from LDS-Forever--Did this thread start from somewhere else and you were quoting it? If so, can you tell me where to go to read on that please?

Second of all, did LDS-Forever mean we can't talk about it here or was she just mentioning that it already existed on that list for information to everyone?

Thanks!

Calling And Election Studies Doctrine Mormon

Usually if you want to question why something is done you do not start a new Thread in the LDS Deep Doctrine section to do it, but instead go toyour Intro Thread.

I will answer some of your questions here and then lock it.

It is not about 'Immature' it is about Public / Private. Certain things within this Topic is NOT made for all to see, but only those who are serious and have a greater perspective of thought on the subject. To understand this concept do read the Sticky Threads within this Board about the LDS Mature Board and the Read Me First Thread.

To answer AlaskanLDS, we do not duplicate Topics in this Community. Once a Topic is covered then we keep all to one Thread so that all the info regarding that Topic can be had in one place sort of like a Wiki or Blog of the Topic. Each Board / Thread has a permission level, you can see various Topics based on your account status. LDS_forever's mention about donating to Upgrade is with the purpose of enabling you to see the Topics mentioned. See the Compare page to see which Boards you can / cannot see.
