You must be in a bad area because in my location we rarely have down time for cable and for net very seldom. Needless to say, service in Trinidad is poor so I have both cable and wireless service to ensure that I am always online.
No not necessarily a bad area. Just a victim of terrible service. FLOW is not well known for its sterling service. I have heard other people in various parts of Trinidad complaining about their cable and internet service. I guess in Trinidad, we are too caught up with improving our technology and less time is spent on focusing on serious issues like giving excellent customer service.
Right now they are running a 30 day money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose if you want to at least get a feel for a 2MB download over a 0.064MB download.
If not, go with GreenDot. They are supposed to have round the clock service and your connection is wireless so no need to worry about phone lines or cable. I think the biggest reasonably priced connection they have at the moment is 256kb, but that is till far better than dial-up.
Last night, I spoke with my mother-in-law about her Internet connection with TSTT's Blink. She complained to me for about a whole hour, how much she regrets dealing with TSTT. She requested the service at the beginning of January 2008 and TSTT did not install her internet until about the middle of February, after she threatened to cancel the service. Now her recent headache is, sometimes her internet connection disappears. She asked me if I ever experienced this with TSTT and I told her that, I registered for the "slower than molasses" dial up services with TSTT. She seemed very upset because her internet connection has "disappeared" four times and whenever she contacts Blink about it, they are very unhelpful and confused about the problem too. I gently suggested to her to try FLOW.
Rather off topic, but... I dare not even mention GreenDot because I knew she would consider this internet service provider, too expensive and she would also wonder, why I would recommend GreenDot, if I registered with TSTT! |
It never ceases to amaze me how tolerant Trinis are when it comes to bad service. I remember reading the Newsday about a month ago, concerning a lady who registered with Blink since November 2007. I believe this was the time that TSTT had launched Blink. Anyway, up to this day, she never received any information from TSTT concerning when she will actually receive the service. She calls TSTT all the time and their response is always the same. They do not know. At the end of her letter she mentions that if this is the poor service she is receiving, she shudders to think what will happen, when Blink is finally installed and how quick TSTT will respond, if she has any future problems. I also read in today's newspapers, many other individuals complaining about being in the same predicament, as this lady! When will people learn? If you are not receiving service, then switch to another competent company! There are so many internet service providers to choose from and yet, people are so obstinate that they want TSTT's Blink! Somehow, I have to wonder if Trinis know the difference between excellent service and bad service. I guess once the price is right, they will opt for the cheapest one, regardless of how they are treated!

Which one? They all seem to give a terrible service based on reviews. |
