Which program do you use to manage your accounts? The popular names are MS Money, Quicken, etc.

I am still in the primitive era when it comes to this - I use paper, pen and calculator still. However, I have looked at Quicken's QuickBook and it seems very versatile.

My very first computer had MS Money, so I used that. My husband had really messed up his business checking account and I was not going to enter everything into registers by hand. So I spent weeks (had to do two years worth of statements!) entering everything.

Then my next computer had Quicken, so I tried that. It is just as easy as Money, in a way I think it is easier, and I liked the background colors better cool.gif . I have been using Quicken for my personal checking since then.

My new husband has never used a computer program to manage his accounts. He is now in the process of inputting all of his accounts: credit cards, stock market accounts, checking, etc. Once he has it all in, then we will maintain it. He is using MS Money because that is what is on his computer. I'll have to take a look and wander through it to see if it is *better* than Quicken.

My favorite money program would have to be Peachtree Accounting Suite. At the cost I honestly could not encourage everyone to use this as it is much more than simply a money program and it is intended for larger businesses but the power within the accounting table makes ease of use much less important than the power and versatility that it offers. Peachtree is not the easiest program to setup nor can you simply sit and in front of it and figure everything out without assistance or manuals. I guess this is more considered an overall business software as it does handle inventory amongst its many other features but what the heck, lets just get excited anyway.
