Senate unanimously confirms David Shulkin as Veterans Affairs secretary
Shulkin, the lone holdover from the Obama administration among President Trump's Cabinet picks, has been the VA undersecretary for health since July 2015 and has not drawn the harsh opposition from Democrats that other Trump nominees have faced. Ref. USAToday.

I hope this guy can make some of the changes that are needed in the VA system. The VA hospitals servicing our veterans are a joke right now. They still are cooking the books to make sure the get their bonuses and all while the veterans they are there to help suffer. It is sad to see some person who is money hungry about bonuses make veterans suffer. I guess we will have to wait and see.
This is good. It's about time someone sat down and and really assessed the VA. The problem is the bureaucracy is entrenched and hard to get rid of. They are the ones causing many of these problems but getting rid of an underachieving, or non-achieving in many cases, Government employee is difficult to impossible. Without getting rid of the people that think the VA exists to provide them salaries for no work rather than existing for the good of the veterans little will change.
Exclusive: VA probe to claim Secretary David Shulkin wrongly took Wimbledon tickets and used taxpayers' money for wife's flights to Europe. Department of Veterans Affairs investigators are poised to claim Secretary David Shulkin improperly accepted Wimbledon tickets and used taxpayers' money to pay his wife's airfare during a European trip last summer - findings Shulkin's lawyers are blasting as questionable and unfair. The report by the VA inspector general is scheduled to be released sometime this week, but some of its key findings can be inferred from a point-by-point rebuttal drafted by Shulkin's lawyers and obtained by USA TODAY.
VA Secretary tells USA TODAY: 'Lots of lessons that I could learn' after improperly accepting travel perks, including Wimbledon tickets. Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin said the past two weeks have been a "Difficult time" as he grappled with the findings of a VA inspector general's investigation that concluded he improperly accepted airfare for his wife and Wimbledon tickets during a European trip last year. Shulkin said he learned from the experience and is eager to refocus on fixing the VA. Ref. USAToday.
No matter how good they sound or "Sorry" they are a politician is a politician so some level of corruption is going to be evident. The correct thing to do is resign the post, how can you have the respect of those you lead with this kind of history?
