Losing Weight First Trimester
At three months into her pregnancy my wife weighs 112 pounds. Yes, 112, she was probably about 116 before, but lost a lot of weight. For the past couple of months I have been working hard each day to get her to eat. I tried to buy her the best of foods, especially tantalizing ones that she likes, but she was very upset. Only now she seems to be getting a bit better. Did you lose a lot of weight in your First Trimester?
Actually I was weighing 118lbs. I know for some people may not think there is a huge difference but my frame is very small so every pound really counts overall. *sigh*
I am a bit frustrated because I never had a problem with eating but right now after the severe morning sickness is gone I just do not feel as hungry as before. My doctor did not see worried about it because most doctors know it very common to lose weight in the first trimester, so hopefully in my next appointment I can report some changes.
I wasn't sure what a trimester was when I clicked on this topic- but have got the gist of it after reading the posts!
It's funny that we don't use that word in the uk, so I wasn't familiar with it.
LDS, I wouldn't worry it sounds like you've got a good Doctor and he's not too concerned, I think you'll find that you start building slowly up to eating food now that the awful morning sickness has subsided.
If you're worried at all though, I'd suggest trying to get milky drinks or food made up of milk, it will build you up gently but at the same time will provide calcium for the baby. If you're like me and don't like milk, make it into a milkshake, I can't tell you how many hundreds of banana milkshakes I went through in pregnancy *laughs*
I think it's always the first few months that are the worst, you'll probably feel a lot better over the next few weeks!
All the best, Diane

That's how I'd take it then "hidden" in food, if that doesn't make you ill, it doesn't matter how the milk is taken in. I learnt that from a nurse, and have again been told this with a young toddler who couldn't keep foods down and have always found this to be the best way...but only you know your body, so go with what you're happy with!
