Valnbunch Introduction - Page 2

Thanks to all for the welcome! I'm a forum lurker by nature. I figure I'll watch, listen and learn. If I post too quickly, I'm bound to rethink later and regret.

I've loved following a few of the mature deep doctrine threads. They have kept me busy following thoughts and ideas for a while now.

As AlaskaLDS mentioned, I also teach gospel doctrine each week. It's a good thing I have a while before D&C/Church History comes around again, cause I'm in a bit of a jumble about that right now. I really stirred it up again doing all this reading, and I need a while to ponder and sort. I'm working through the Adam/God thread, endowment thread, plural marriage thread, etc. I guess really Brigham Young -vs- today.

I also stay very busy teaching my 4 kids. I love, love, love doing it. I learn so much right with them and am so glad it I live in the time and place I do, so I have the freedom to do this. We're using Thomas Jefferson education as our base. I was glad to see some fellow homeschoolers on the forum.

I also love to cook/bake. I'm a bit of an organic health nut but one who likes and uses real food. Anything unprocessed. Meat, fresh fruit and veggies, plenty of butter, cream, milk, olive oil, eggs, plenty of spices and herbs, and yes even plenty of salt and sugar. We've been grinding wheat and making bread for about 2 years and getting fresh raw milk. It's a wonder I have time to read at all.

I have 12 books on my nightstand that are pulling my attention from this forum (and all other computer/internet activities.) Top of the list is Hugh Nibley's "Approaching Zion." Definitely one of my personal heroes.

Okay, I really got carried away here, thanks again for all your input so that I may benefit. I'm out here reading and studying, even if I don't say much!

Introduction Valnbunch

Glad you are having fun keeping busy. When you get around to it I hope you will also share some of your experiences, especially about home schooling and organic eating. Of course, your views in the LDS Boards will be appreciated.

Do not worry about getting an initial Post perfect - there is no such thing, and often Discussion involves follow-up, even if it is to correct or change a previous view. Should you need help with getting around the Forum please do ask within this Thread.

unsure.gif HAPPY "CRAP were getting snow tonight" DAY! Happy? NOT!

I know you have little time to be here but when you are, and we are "discussing" things...it helps if you can access it! I figure I just saved us hours of time and what the heck...did I mention it is going to freakin snow? I am so not ready!

HUGS!

That was so nice of you, AlaskanLDS. Now if we can just get Val to join in a discussion or two. I know she would have so much to add.

**Snow? That IS a drag. I guess I will find out next week. Right now it is a little drizzly but 60 degrees here in Washington. biggrin.gif

She would probably be able to answer some of these questions that I have to dig and research first.
Rather off topic, but...

Melissa said she has an inch in her backyard.
