Welcome to 2018, where famous or rich people are getting accused left, right and center, with nothing being proved, but people loosing contracts, careers and marriages all because of unproven allegations. David Copperfield is another victim of this disturbing trend of people bringing up incidents that are literally decades old, without any real hope of evidence to prove them being found in a trial. People's lives are literally being destroyed by nobodies, when the accusations are lies. Why are people reacting as if an accusation is fact?!?
Theater of the Absurd.
And what if it is true? Should she just stay quiet? Some people or I should say some victims tend to come out with what has been done to them when they have the courage to do it. We should not judge them for that, it takes a lot to come forward, raise your hand and admit you've been sexually assaulted.
I agree totally, but without evidence or even the announcement of a courtcase, these statements made by people are not more than mud-slinging. If they were a victim of sexual assault, and are able to nerve themselves to come forward, then they should do it with a court case, charging the person with the crime. Not merely stating that something happened, and getting the person black-balled, fired, divorced, etc. From a single, unsubstantiated accusation. THAT is what has been happening lately, far too often. The trend seems to indicate that far too high a percent of these accusations are to gain attention and/or gain revenge on the target. The last time David Copperfield was accused of sexual rape and such (As listed in the beginning of the thread), his accuser ended up in jail for false allegations and he was exonerated. Yet he still lost gigs and prestige because of the false accusations she made. That result did not make it into this thread, so the assumption that the new accusations are valid become reinforced by the past ones.
