Suing Over A Broken Heart

This thread was inspired by an episode from the Dr Phil Show.

Have you ever heard of the Alienation of Affection Law? In some countries, if a husband is unfaithful to his wife, then the wife can sue her spouse's lover for "alienation of affection." Here is a classic example of a woman named Dawn, who was sued by a man's wife for being instrumental in causing the divorce. Dawn claims that she was not even aware that her lover was married. Do you agree with Dawn's point of view that this law should be removed from the books?

Heart Broken Over Suing

Interesting story! This law is ridiculous. It is a law that is saying it is possible for someone to "steal" a spouse which I absolutely disagree. In cases like this one, I just do not understand why these women always get angry at the other women having an affair with their husbands but they do not get angry at their husbands at all. They want to punish the other woman but NOT their spouses who made a commitment with them.

This law is pathetic.
