Well, my wife is devastated. Looks like 24 is now being put on hold due to the strike. I wonder how many other shows are going to have to be put on hold due to the lack of available writers? Already shows like "the Daily Show" are in repeats due to the strike. News is reporting it may go on for months. Wonder how many other people will follow Ellen Degenres and cross the picket lines.
I am very surprised that this problem was not resolved last week. It was reported that a meeting was supposed to be held last week Thursday, to discuss the writers' grievances. Hollywood is going to lose a lot of money. People fail to recognize how important the writers are and they cannot be easily replaced. Look at Desperate Housewives. In the first season, it was the hottest show and even Oprah Winfrey loved watching it. But for some reason, in the second season, the same writers, who wrote the script for the first season, were not used and ratings fell very quickly. So writers should never be taken for granted. So many people will be affected by this strike: actors, actresses, prop designers, make up artists, makers of sound effects, camera men, producers and the list goes on and on. I sincerely hope that the writers do receive, what they are asking for.
Producers, stagehands to resume talks

Come on people! This is the Season for giving and it is time for the writers to get what they deserve! I cannot believe that this strike is still going on! I hope the writers stand strong and they get their royalties. I honestly thought that all writers receive royalties for the reruns. Imagine Jerry Seinfield wrote some of the scripts for his self titled show with the help of a few writers and now that the show has ended, there are reruns and Jerry Seinfield continues to become richer everyday whereas the writers who assisted him, don't see a red cent! Something about that is grossly unfair. I am pleased to see some Hollywood movie stars providing support for the writers! Good for them! I hope this matter will be resolved very soon!

Last night on the news they were commenting on why this is taking so long… every time there is a negotiation the Writer's Guild keeps adding things to the 'menu' of items they are demanding. It is like having to renegotiate at each session they meet. The film producers just want them to agree to the first requested order of business and then move on from there, but the Writer's Guild wants to get all done now. It looks like it will be a dreary time for the Writer's Guild and their families this Christmas. I hope they saved up enough for at least a few gifts and a clice of ham.

Post Writers Guild Strike
The Writers Guild of America strike was resolved more than one month ago, but your prime-time television schedule? Not so resolved. But good TV doesn't happen overnight, which is why new episodes of your favorite shows are just beginning to see the light of day. Like the first sweet flowers of spring, fresh installments of long-disappeared comedies and dramas will soon be busting out all over.
