AMD's New Athlon 64 FX-57 Rocks on Games
High-end chip offers top gaming performance, but can it compete with the company's dual-core processors?

I cant actually afford a machine that will hold one of these yet, or afford to purchase the actual chip yet. But I have played the new counter strike on the new AMD dual cores with a gig of memory and it plays flawlessly. The new Counter Strike runs allot of graphics in its first person shooter including fog and smoke. It runs all this with a state of the art graphics card and I see no slow down what so ever. I do wonder though, how much of a help the actual processor is as opposed to the benefit of a state of the art graphics card. I would have to see the same game perform great with a lower end card to be convinced that the dual core really helps gamers. Dual core helps high end processing and would definintely help with CAD runners. But so much of gaming is dependent on the graphics card, and so much processing is offloaded to the card that I don't know how much a dual core processor with really help.
I was just wondering if anyone within the Community has actually owned / own or tested a 64bit processor? If so I would love to read a comparison.
