You tend to find that most British families are quite laid back, but focused on the family.
The majority of people who are in married relationships and have children spend their spare time with their families, and especially weekends are devoted to their kids doing family orientated things.
Sadly there are the minority as in all cultures and traditions who don't give 2 hoots about their kids, but fortunately there are more out there who do care and don't mind showing it.
It's well known for Brits to want the 2.2 children in the average family, the nice car and a house and most are happy with their lot in life.
