Comments: It's already been explained, but to reiterate, the skinhead culture grew out of working class kids in poor neighborhoods in the UK in the 60's (many were mods, or mod influenced), these were kids who lived in the same neighborhoods as Jamaican and African immigrants, kids who loved Jamaican music (Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae), Do some research, search youtube, (skinhead reggae, skin head ska, original skinheads), watch the documentary World Of Skinhead, watch the Movie This Is England, do this and you will start to understand how the multiracial skinhead culture that grew out of poor working class kids who's friends were black and who listened to Jamaican music got hijacked by ignorant narrrow-minded misinformed and gullible boneheads. Skinheads were not racists and never have been. The racist people who call themselves skinheads (and who the media sensationalized to the point that everyone thinks that's what skinheads are) are sad ignorant and lost, and they stole their look from people who were tough but open armed and open hearted for the most part. That being said, I will say, some of the original skinheads in the UK (whites and blacks) did engage in Paki-Bashing, (beating up recent Pakistani immigrants), as these lower class black and white youths viewed Pakistanis and other middle eastern folks as interlopers stealing jobs. That's not to say all of them did that though. These days SHARP and others who adhere to the original skinhead culture are opened armed to anyone of any race. I grew up in Corpus Christi,TX and had friends and acquaintances who were members of groups such as SHARP and UNITY, or just plain old school original skinheads. Many were Hispanic, Some Black, some of middle eastern descent, and some of mixed American Indian, African and Euro descent. Anyway, anyone reading this thread, forget everything you think you know or have heard about "Skinheads", just throw it all right out the window. Do the research, watch the videos and documentaries, listen to the old Jamaican guys who immigrated to the UK in the 60s calling themselves skinheads on film, and see them playing music for crowds of black and white skinheads in the 60's, then you will fully understand who SHARP is and why they exist...

Comments: Personally I have only just come across Sharps but find them to be greatly intriguing.
From the brief research I have done including finding this discussion I have come up with this.
Sharps started due to a love of Reggae and Ska music, being a sharp is not about group mentality but individuality on what you stand for. There is no group code but a moral code to stand up for what you believe and never back down.
As for the preacher your church is no better than a collective gang. Inside are corrupters and railers just as there are in the real world waiting to temp the minds of the youth.
