Travel: Best Places Versus The Worst

This topic could go anywhere, but Culture and Traditions makes sense to me.

My best place to travel would be northern Canada. The region has great fishing, few people, and wonderful camping spots. A close second is Maine for all of the same reasons.
The worst place to travel in my opinion would be Columbia. Taking into account rampant crime, corrupt officials, and an active insurgency and you have why I never plan to go there on vacation.

Worst Versus Places Travel

Actually, we have a Travel Board, so I am moving this there.

To answer your questions:

1. I did not like Venezuela much. The country and people are nice, but there is just too much corruption and crime for my liking. Following this my own country is not ranking high either.

2. I love Wales the best, so natural, so mystic. I also like certain places in the US.

I guess it depends on what your looking for as to which place is the best and what is the worst. You would not travel to the USA if your looking for castles. You would not travel to alaska to watch a bunch of bikini clad women laying about on the beach. If you want fishing then Canada offers some of the best fishing around. Minnesota has good fishing if you do not want to leave the states.

The best places to avoid are those that have active fighting right now. There is nothing worse than walking into the middle of a armed conflict armed with just your camera. smile.gif

Worst Versus Places Travel

I toured all around Ireland a few years back and would highly recommend it to anyone. The castles, scenery and people are well worth the trip. Now I do fancy a beer from time to time and this place is a mecca for anyone that enjoys a Guinness. It is definitely my favorite location. We just rented a car and started in Dublin and traveled clockwise around the country (Dublin, Wexford, Waterford, Tralee, Galway, Clifden, Mayo, Brief stop in Roscommon and back to Dublin).

I really didnt enjoy China that much. The main cities (Beijing and Shanghai) were nice, but there is not that much freedom to explore. You basically hook up with a tour and it is very choreographed. You are only taken to certain places and keep pretty will corralled and then they take you to stores to buy souvenirs at predestined times. It really did not feel enjoyable...more like we were being processed and fleeced. The whole time you just know that there is money flowing under the table for bringing the foreigners to the store. Pretty corrupt!
