I wonder what was the motive? Everybody says she was the "perfect mother and wife". This is prove to me as I always say that what people perceive of other people it is not always the reality.

What a sad story. It's one of three things, in my opinion: abuse of a child that the mother discovered; infidelity of either the wife or the husband; or mental illness of the mother. And not just their family is torn apart, but the whole congregation who loved them. Very sad.

Here is some 'possible' insight into why Mary Winkler committed such a horrific crime against her husband March 22. If anything, it is food for thought regarding this case.

Reporter Bob Burns zeroes in on Mary and Matthew Winkler before they moved to Selmer, Tennessee. Burns, who's with GLOBE, has found out that they previously lived in McMinnville where he served as a youth minister. The question bouncing around the web is, why did Matthew Winkler leave that job and one other earlier job? Of course, given this mysterious case, the lion's share of answers is that Matthew Winkler was "forced" to leave because of allegations of unusual behavior with children. And the conclusion is that somehow Mary Winkler found out about this alleged pattern of behavior -- and, on March 22nd, stopped it. |

I guess that part of the problem with this case is that if the wife suspected the Husband of sexual acts with children it puts her in a predicament.
As a Pastor you are supposed to be well above the acts of other people, and are held in a higher esteem. Depending on how religious the wife was, she could still believe in retribution, as in the old 'eye for an eye' scenario.
Sadly, it's a sad fact of life that all mankind are capable of sinning regardless of 'status' in life!
