In this series of Threads I will propose a situation and a possible number of equipment you can take with you up to a certain maximum. Choose from the possible list of items and post your comments as to why you chose what you did.

Situation:

You are lost in the jungle. You, by chance have these items on you at the moment.

Maximum Items You Can Take:

Available Items You Can Take:

1. 2 yards of twine
2. Candy bar
3. Compass
4. Penknife
5. Matches
6. Small first aid kit
7. Pack of peanuts
8. Map, but you do not know if it is of your location
9. Black bag
10. Citronella oil

Equipment Survival

Depending on the type of jungle, this one may have an extremely low chance of survival. With just these items, I'd say 48 hours tops in a tropical jungle.

Hope the map is of the region you are in and look for land formations that correspond with the map. After that move towards the nearest developed land on the map via the general compass heading.

Just two items is a tough pull, but I will go with:

You start a large fire in the forest and someone is bound to see it! Also, good from keeping predators out.

I would think that jungles provide shade, food and fuel for fires and that provides a high rate of survival?
