If he is going to make the military use the truth then the country will be hurting for military personnel. I think the way the military recruits is just fine. The student or recruit can ask any questions they want and the recruiter can answer them. IF the recruit wants more information it is not hard to find a friend who has a vet in the family. They can talk to the vets to get a truer picture of the military. IF a student can not use all resources at their disposal and goes into an agreement half blind then it should not be at the fault of the military recruiter.

Interesting point there KNtoran sort of a buyer beware. I do think though that any who are in cue for recruitment should be reminded that after ward at any time a war breaks they be the first called back. I would hope that that is not a shock to any who have enlisted. Personally I think all youth should serve for 6months to a year after schooling and before college or university.

Who is paying for the teacher's Salaries. Is it not the Government of England.

These teacher's are requesting that they receive a paycheck from the Government, but when the Government asks to recruit for the protection of the country the Teachers forget who is protecting them.

Ingratitude is one of the greatest sins we can show toward our home countries. When we fight the recruitment efforts of our militaries, we show the ultimate in disloyalty.

SHAME ON THESE TEACHERS.

I agree with dbackers. Same thing happened- or kind of did- at Berkeley. They didn't want Marine Corps recruiters and protested it. The government basically said, no- you can't do that, and was going to take away millions of dollars in funding.

Besides, if you actually read that article the teacher union was saying they need to tell kids "Join the Army and we will send you probably poorly equipped into situations where people will try to shoot or kill you because you are occupying other people's countries."

I have to say this is totally unrealistic. At least in the US- that would be a ridiculous statement. When I'm asking people if they want to join the Marines, they always say "I don't want to die." This shows how uninformed people are- and not just kids. It all depends on your MOS- if you join as Infantry, sure you might die, if you join as an accountant- you don't really have to worry about that.

The teachers union is contradicting themselves saying what they did. If recruiting in high schools stopped, I think any country's military would be hurt badly.
