I did a search here for Emily Sander and did not find anything on her. She is the young college gal who they have been searching for after her disappearance a week ago.

Authorities said the preliminary physical description of the body found about 50 miles east of El Dorado matches that of missing college student Emily Sander. Investigators refused to give details about the state of the body or how it was found. Sander's case drew wide attention after it was revealed that she appeared nude on a popular adult Web site under the name Zoey Zane. That site was temporarily inaccessible Thursday, as were several sites that bill themselves as "fan" sites of Zane. But Police Chief Tom Boren insisted Thursday that Sander's Internet activity had no connection to her disappearance. "The issue of the Internet and the spinoff of that has been literally crippling our investigation," Boren said. Boren said the cause of death was not yet known. An autopsy is planned. Sander, 18, was last seen leaving an El Dorado bar Friday with a man who has been the focus of a nationwide search since police found large quantities of blood in a Kansas motel room where he was staying. Prior to finding the body, investigators said they had not found a link between Sander and her activities as Zoey Zane. But publicity about her explicit photos brought a flood of tips, many of them false leads. Sander, who attended Butler Community College, left the bar with Israel Mireles, 24. Authorities are looking for him and his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend. |

I think is terrible the way the Media is handling the case. Everywhere you go, the headlines talk about "the secret porn star". Is that necessary? I mean, she is a missing teen! She was living this double life that I am sure is already now a shock to her entire family, is it necessary for the Media to keep repeating the fact that she was an internet porn star knowingly that it is NOT the cause for her disappearance?

The police even said that they thought it was hindering their investigation. You would think that would clue the media in--I think they are a lot more interested in selling their papers that what it does for the people's image or impact on families.

AlaskanLDS, nothing to apologize about. I was referring strictly to the media. I worked as a Journalist for years in my home country and maybe (to be quite honest) I may have put the same headline. There are so many missing teen cases that the fact that this girl was a porn star cannot be put on in a box and be forgotten, not with the hungry-media that exist worldwide.
It is amazing to me to see these beautiful, good looking girls having a relationship with such losers. You only have to see the pictures of the "boyfriends" to get an idea on the kind of men these girls hang up with. They definitely have low-self esteem issues.

That is so true. In fact I think that the reason some of them turn to that kind of life is because they just want to be loved and important--any way they can get it. And unfortunately there is plenty of people willing to "love" them and pay attention. It breaks my heart.
I am interested to see what unfolds in this story because the guy they are looking for actually has a girlfriend that is pregnant. I think the whole thing is awful but I hope that justice is done and the family can have some kind of peace that way.

Ironically, she is back to being a college student. I am just glad that they found her so the family could move forward. I am sure that they are going through so much and asking themselves so many questions at this point.

The identification of the body of Emily Sander, 18, was confirmed by a forensic orthodontist, El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said. The body was released to Sander's family after forensic examinations and an autopsy. The results of that examination and the cause of death were sealed by the county attorney's office, and police would not release details about the cause of death. Police also said Saturday they were re-interviewing witnesses, family and associates of suspect Israel Mireles, 24 and his pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend. They said his whereabouts were still unknown, but they believed she was still with him. Sander, 18, disappeared late Nov. 23 after leaving a bar with Mireles outside El Dorado, and police labeled Mireles a suspect in her disappearance. The body was found Thursday about 50 miles east of El Dorado, along U.S. 54 near the Woodson County town of Toronto. Close to the body, investigators found a bedspread that had been missing from Mireles' El Dorado motel room, Boren said. Investigators found a large amount of blood in the room. Sander's case drew wide attention after it was revealed that she appeared on a popular adult Web site under the name Zoey Zane. In some photographs, she appears merely scantily clad in lingerie or cowgirl outfits. Other pictures, some of which require viewers to pay for, are more explicit, showing her nude, fondling herself and posing with other women. Mireles' girlfriend is seven months pregnant. Investigators think she remains with Mireles "on her own volition, but investigators fear for her continued welfare, as well as that of her unborn child," Boren said in a statement Friday. The rental car the pair were driving was found abandoned Tuesday in Vernon, Texas, where Mireles has relatives. Sander's grandfather, Clem Sander of El Dorado, said Friday afternoon that relatives had begun preparing funeral arrangements. |
