Is there any specific reason for having only two seats? There isn't enough power for at least two more seats in the back?

No there is not this thing is so small I could put in the back of my truck and use it as a spare tire. It is strictly designed to commute to work and back and is very expensive for what you get.

There are other cars out there that leave you space to sit and get even better mileage though some are more expensive then this one.
