Birth Control
What is the general view or doctrine on Birth Control in most Eastern Religions?
I guess this question hinges on what eastern religion you are talking about.
Buddhism:
Birth control is just fine, any form. Abortion is the destruction of life, and thus it is opposed by Buddhist in general.
Hinduism:
Birth control is approved. Though large families are praised in hindu society. Abortion in any form for any reason is unacceptable in Hinduism due to their belief in how Karma works.
Sikhism:
Birth control and family planning are encouraged. There is no solid rule on abortion, though most oppose it due to the destruction of a human soul.
Taoism:
This religion is all about balance. Having too many children can offset the delicate balance of the family. Thus sensible family planning measures are approved of in general. In fact, a large family is often looked down upon in a Taoist community.
