Best Electric Fans
Which kind of electric fan do you use in your home? How many speeds does it have and who is the manufacturer? How long does a fan normally work for you before needing repairs?
I have used nothing other than ceiling fans for years. I believe that all except one in my house currently have 2 speeds while the other has 4. The 4 speed fan is I believe an Everglide while all of the others are a cheap Wal-mart brand. (Hometrends maybe?) The cheap ones I think I have to replace every 3rd year or so. The good one that I have I believe came with a 5 year warranty, so I'm not sure on it. I have never had to replace it. Thank goodness.
In my room and in the living room I use Lasko "WindMachine" fans. They were only about twenty five dollars, and you will feel cool if the fans are aimed directly at you. In the past I have used "The Hawaiian Breeze" which was neat because it came with a remote and had a lot of settings. That fan stopped working in a year so I replaced it with a similar fan that lasted two years. These WindMachines have lasted about 5 years so far, but they aren't the best. At my ex boyfriends house we used a tower fan which had filters that we could clean. I think fans with filters are best because they help remove dust from the air. Just clean the filters when they get dirty.
I haven't turned the fan off in my room in over a month. I used to turn it off when I would leave my home, but I don't anymore. The summers get up to one hundred ten degrees in Texas and I would like to walk into a room with fresh air. Using a fan makes it so you don't have to have the air conditioner on as much. The sound of the fan helps me sleep too.
