Because the Media portraits these people as beautiful and glamorous because of their fame. I remember hearing once that fame makes people look "beautiful" and it's true. I can think of several actors and actresses who are average looking but the way they are overrated shows that is not a matter of looks but a matter of how famous and known you are really are.
