Does Trinidad Need Special Needs Nurses?

Does Trinidad Need Special Needs Nurses?

Name: LDTrainedNurse

Title: Are specialist nurses needed?

Comments: In the UK there are nurses with specialist qualifications in the field of learning disabilities/intellectual disabilities who work in general hospitals, psychiatric hospitals and as community nurses in healthcare and education ensuring that people with intellectual disabilities receive care and support tailored to their needs. Do you think there is a need for such nurses here in Trinidad and Tobago?

Nurses Special Trinidad Does

Is there a need - most definitely. Is it likely that the public health sector will hire specialty nurses - they might, though I doubt they will put that part of the talent to good use. From my experience, special needs children is very much a back burner topic in Trinidad. Private institutions may hire you, but you will only be catering for the very rich who can afford exorbitant fees that do NOT cater for the average family with an autistic child(Ren).
