SCIENTISTS MAP FIRST MARSUPIAL GENOME

A wee opossum native to South America has become the first marsupial to have its genetic code fully deciphered, an achievement scientists hope may also shed light on the odyssey of mankind and help medical research into skin cancer and spinal cord injuries.
