Many people seem to charge Nickelback ask a band whose songs all sound the same. They get alot of bad press sometimes here and it is really strange to me. I think they're pretty good. AT worst, they're decent. They aren't for everyone but I enjoy them. They have a unique-ish sound and songs on everything from mushrooms to spousal abuse to drinking. Granted, that makes them sound really really bad. But I think the criticism comes more from cynicism rather than honest appraisal of their talents.
