Takeru Kobayashi just recently broke his own hot dog eating record by consuming a whopping 50 1/2 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes. Some interesting facts about the last contest. Kobayashi nicknamed Tsunami, weighed 113 pounds before the contest and 120 afterwards. Instant replay was initiated when he regurgitated shortly after the contest was completed to determine whether a DQ was forthcoming or not. There was speculation that he used muscle relaxers to aid in digestion of his hotdog feast so now drug testing is being called for. His closest rival Eric 'Badland' Booker digested a mere 26 hotdogs and buns. The Vegas spread on the Tsunami was 20 hot dogs, I mean points. Wow, hot dog eating is a sport after all!
He actually did get sick right at the end of the contest after the clock had stopped. I think all the contestants at one point or another would have had to get sick after consuming so much in such a short period of time. Oh the pains we put our bodies through for competition.
He has a world record out of it, that's why. That would be his motivation, I assume, and the motivation of any other person who competes against him.
For one sitting, my record would be 5. And not just hot dogs, bratswurts at that. I was pretty full and bloated after that for a long time.
