I finally got some semblance of a website up and running! You can find it HERE.

I am just a novice webpage builder so it is not very complicated. Also, some of the photos are kind of bad, I'll have to retake most of them at some point. Everything on there is something that I've done as an assignment in a class, so some are just exercises, and they range from my beginning drawing class to now, which is about 2 years.

There are no oil paintings because I haven't taken pictures of them yet.

Comments and constructive crituques are welcome, just realize that like I said, many of these are old and will likely not be redone.

I like what I see so far, top grade work, and the way it is displayed is just right. I only ask...

1. For some descriptions and dates
2. To see some colored work
3. Maybe change the background color to something darker?

I noticed on the portraits you did not show the eyes, any particular reason for that? Is it just a style?

Thank you.

Yeah... I think only one of them actually has a title, but you are right. Especially dates would be good.

2. To see some colored work

Well, that's funny because I didn't even realize there was no color work! I had one piece that I didn't include because it was a horrible photograph. Also, my oil paintings are color but I have not photographed them yet - I have yet to give them a final glaze, but maybe I'll photo some of them anyways.

You are right, that would be much better - in fact, I tried it with a black background today, but realized that I would have to change the menu text color and the color in my name to something other than dark violet, and decided to not tackle a whole new color scheme at the moment. Black looks more professional anyways, right?

Another interesting observation that I hadn't noticed. In the ones where the eyes are dark: First of all, the eyes were in shadow and if I remember correctly, our teacher didn't want us to have any detail/reflected light in the shadows for those techniques, perhaps because it makes the drawing more dramatic (though I'm not completely sure). Second, those were completed in one class period, and not tackling the eyes would have left me with more time to develop the rest of the drawing. As for the one with closed eyes, I did this one for my Art Ed. Curriculum class where I didn't have a paid model. A friend from my class agreed to model for me for free, but she was doing her math homework at the time so her eyes are actually looking down rather than shut. When I get some oil portraits on there, they should all have open eyes.

I appreciate the comments!

Very nice! I have to say that portraits seem to be your forte', rather than still-lifes. My favorite is the portrait on the top left -- the light and shadow effect is very nice, particularly the sheen in his hair. Nice work.

Thanks FarSeer!

New additions and alterations - I changed the entire color scheme. Any feedback on that would be great, for some reason I had a hard time with it. I also added some oil paintings and gave titles/dates/media.

Offtopic but,
For some reason, the media and dates don't show up when you use internet explorer - any ideas why?

A big improvement and much better to look at. Your oils are delightful. From my perspective if you add darker shades to 'English Country Church' then it will give more depth, but then again I am a lover of shading, so I may be biased.

Offtopic but,
Thanks for sharing although I did notice there was no link back to this site wink.gif Check the rate us page for code if you so desire.

(Code Question:) That is an issue for the Code Board. You can request help there if you wish, but just quickly: you are using css, this operates differently in each browser.

Artistry is definately a gift you have! I mess up stick figures. I always give them that darn third leg in the middle!

Lovely art work, I especially liked the English country church, not because I'm English, but because it captures the true essence.

I wish I was gifted in this way, sadly I'm not, you'll have to download more pictures when you get the time, after your baby is born. It would be lovely to see more!
