Did you know that Amnesty International keeps track of how many people are executed around the globe?

EXECUTIONS DOWN ACROSS GLOBE, SAYS AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
The number of people executed by their own governments fell by 25 per cent last year, with China carrying out the most executions, Amnesty International said Friday.

I didn't know that Amnesty International kept records or loggings of this type of information, but I know that they do a lot of good work internationally to help people.
Those figures are quite shocking, especially where it says that China has executed over a 1,000 of it's public, but it's more likely to be around the 8,000 mark!
Obviously governments are keeping it very close to themselves, exactly what's going on, and I'm guessing we'll never really know the half of it...
