Tatiana Khalina, 42, delivered the girl by Caesarean section at a maternity clinic in Aleisk, a town of 30,000 in the Altai region in southern Siberia, Svetlana Gildeyeva, a nurse at the clinic, said Thursday. Gildeyeva said the birth on Sept. 17 went smoothly and both the mother and the child were fine. She said the baby, Nadezhda, was transferred from the small Aleisk clinic to a maternity hospital in the bigger city of Barnaul which had better conditions. The girl was feeling well and developing normally, said Irina Kurdeka, a doctor at the Barnaul hospital. The daily Moskovsky Komsomolets quoted the local social services chief, Marina Alistratova, as saying that Khalina and her husband weren't tall. She said that Khalina's husband was on contract with a local military unit and the family had modest means. "We have presented them with a good washing machine, a food package and a card," Alistratova told the newspaper. "We will keep supporting them in the future." |
That baby is huge! I have to applaud that lady for having 12 children! I am glad that the baby and her mother are both doing very well. I wonder if her diet with this pregnancy was different from when she was pregnant with her other 11 kids?
It seems to be the bigger the mother is, the bigger the baby will be. I am very small (115lbs) and my babies are usually 6 1/2 pounds. But some of my friends who are pretty big, have babies that weigh usually 9 or 10 pounds.
Interesting LDSCyn, you said you was 120lbs when you got pregnant of your daughter...but how many pounds you was when you actually had her?
Just in the cases I know, the bigger the mom...bigger baby. I never personally met, let's say an overweight woman having a small baby but I am sure there are.
LDS_Forever, Oh I believe I was 145lbs when I delivered her...and I was 150lbs with my second one . AAGH the baby makes you put on weight which I didnt like at all! I haven't been able to get back to 120lbs : (
But my friend just recently had a baby and she weighs a little more than 200lbs and her baby boy was 6lbs. Maybe it depends on what the mother eats?
I did eat more hamburgers with my daughter and with my son I would eat gyros
