What does Snake Meat taste like? Are all snakes edible?

I am thinking it was rattle snake meat(been 20 years) was really like nothing else I have ate, but was not too chewy. It was some sort of wine sauce, was not bad at all. I expected more of a shark taste to it though. I think it was most similar in taste to alligator but more tender. That might have been just the spices though.

The only snake I have eaten has been rattlesnake. I think it was a taste simular to turtle myself. It was tender and easy on the palate. I would eat it again. I believe that all snakes are edible. But would have to do some further research to make sure of this fact.
