This has been very informative. Druids from what I see are very similar to pagans or really are just a branch of paganism with a focus. I'm going to other parts of the board to bring up some issues so as a druid join in if you want to give your ideas in those from the druid point of view.
Yes, we are around. We can be found everywhere... the guy running the nearby convenience store, school teachers, software analysts, the mom taking care of her kids. We look and act just like ordinary people, of course that's because we are just that...ordinary people.

Bards; Story tellers and Poets
Ovates; Healers and Divinators.
Druids; Priests and Statute makers.
None is above the other.
Myself, I don't fall into any of these, I tell stories, cast runes and drum out rituals.
Eclectic, Celtic and Pagan?
Not even that, I just worship nature and follow the wheel of the year.
We tell our ancestors' stories, it's an old craft.
Celtic People have myths and tales that are ancient and profound.
Many have been added and adapted of the centuries.
They are told to teach us our heritage as lessons in life.
They are not Religious Text, but pathways in our Destiny.
We read Animal behavior in what we call Omens.
Two Crows flying towards us from a dawning sun is a powerful Omen of good fortune in Springtime.
As for direct communication, I often talk to my birds in the garden, much like anyone talking to a cat or dog.
My Blackbird Guide triggers my own subconscious within myself with its song.
Everyone hears the call, but my perception gives it meaning.
