For Heavens Sake, Pull Up Your Pants!

Young men these days are enjoying the latest craze which involves wearing an oversized pants, which falls below their waist and therefore, revealing their underwear or sometimes, their bare bottom. Apparently, this trend started with inmates in jail. Sometimes, when men are assigned their jail apparel, it does not always fit properly; both the shirt and pants are too big and as a result of this, the pants may fall below the inmates waist. And this is how the "baggy pants" trend was born.

Recently I saw on the international news that there is a heated debate about whether or not, the government should ban baggy pants. Some people are supporting this idea since they consider this trend to be indecent. It has been argued that this baggy pants trend could be pose as a threat to a teenager's safety; the police may be led to believe that the teenager could be concealing a weapon in his baggy pants.

Do you think the government should insist that, young boys dress properly by implementing a ban on baggy pants? What are your views on this?

This is a difficult topic to debate. I know on a local government level in cities not far from my area they have actually passed local law and are enforcing it. I personally would not have a problem with the pants being overly baggy so long as they could keep them over their butt. I know we live in a free country and all but I know someone who has sex offender charges against him for having blinds open on the windows next to his front door and two little girls came to his door and were able to see him naked on his own couch. When we can punish someone for what they do in their own home and making a mistake such as forgetting about those little 8 inch windows by his front door, then how can we let men walk around with their pants sitting mid thiegh or lower in some cases? I am all about freedom of expression but there comes a point when you are not expressing yourself but merely pushing to see what you can get away with.

It has also been argued in some cases locally as being seen as gang related activity. By all means, belt up or pay up. Have a nice night.
