Soya Bean Recipes
The other day I was in the grocery and was surprised to see dried Soya Beans for sale. It is not commonly sold with yellow, lentil, channa, black, pink, and red beans seemingly being more popular. However, Soya Beans I believe have the best protein source of the beans / peas. Anyone have good recipes for the dried Soya Beans? Especially making them as hamburgers.
Soya Burger
150g/5½oz frozen soya beans
1 bird's-eye chilli, seeds removed, chopped
55g/2oz breadcrumbs
2 spring onions, chopped
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
1 free-range egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp plain flour
1 tbsp olive oil
1. For the soya bean burger, place the soya beans, chilli, breadcrumbs, spring onions, coriander and egg into a food processor and pulse briefly to combine.
2. Shape the mixture into a patty and dredge in the flour.
3. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan and fry the patty for three minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden-brown.

JB, a couple of things:
1. Dried soya beans expand a lot so 1 cup of them make 2-3 cups of cooked beans.
2. I can make the burgers for you, it is very simple. You just add whatever seasonings you want, add egg and a little flour and it's ready to cook.
