Misguided Bill?
PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona's tough immigration enforcement bill will become law in the southwestern border state, despite being criticized by President Barack Obama as "misguided." Gov. Jan Brewer signed the bill into law Friday. It takes effect in 90 days after the current legislative sessions in the next several weeks. The sweeping legislation makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It would also require local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are in the USA illegally.
I don't think asking suspicious looking people for identification is so troubling. If you are a a law abiding citizen you have nothing to worry about. If we are pulled over by an officer or have to do something legal we need to show identification. Newcomers here may need to deal with that as part of becoming an American.

Illegal Immigrants rally
Apparently not ashamed they are breaking the law, 'illegal' immigrants and proponents of illegal immigration took to the streets over the weekend to protest having to follow laws in the state of Arizona. The protests, quite unlike the tea parties, turned violent which seems to be a pattern from the left that the media continues to ignore. Glenn talks about what should be done with illegal immigration on radio today. Ref. Source 3
Rep. Grijalva Calls for Federal Non-Cooperation with Controversial AZ Immigration Bill
Outrage is growing over the passage of a controversial new measure in Arizona that forces police officers to determine the immigration status of someone they suspect of being an undocumented immigrant. We speak with Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), who is urging federal non-cooperation with the new law and is calling for a targeted economic boycott of Arizona. We also speak with Sunita Patel, an attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights, which is filing a lawsuit demanding records related to ICE's little known "Secure Communities" program. Ref.
